Women's Activities

UMW:  The organized unit of the United Methodist Women is made up of a group, called Circle.  They meet on the third Tuesday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.    All women are invited to attend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.  May the Spirit of the Christmas Season dwell in our hearts.

Our 3rd session on the “Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations” was a further discussion about how we can enhance our ministries.  The Church leadership is focused on defining our future mission.  What do we want First United Methodist Church to look like in ten years?  Join us for future sessions as we strengthen our role in the community.

UMW had a very successful Cookie Exchange on December 6th.  We asked the Holy Spirit to bless us and the elderly and homebound as we delivered the Christmas Tins.  Thanks to all the women who baked the cookies and joined us to create 28 tins.  We presented Mary Reece with a beautiful silver creamer.

What a joy the “Lessons and Carols” service.  I most enjoy the Christmas hymns and readings from the Bible about Jesus.  The Cunningbells increase the beauty of the Season. It’s wonderful to enjoy the merging of the talent from First Presbyterian Church with our own.

On Thursday, December 15th, I will represent UMW at the YMCA’s reception honoring those who have contributed to the preservation and restoration of our Escambia County High School building.  All attendees of ECHS should visit and see the progress.

President
